Water bill suddenly doubled?

Water Line Repair & RepipingServing Ventura County, the Conejo Valley & the San Fernando Valley

A leak hiding under the slab or a corroded galvanized line never fixes itself. Best Coast Plumbing starts with an onsite evaluation and pressure testing, then quotes a spot repair, a reroute, or a full repipe flat-rate before any work begins.

Fix the Leak or Repipe the House?

If one pinhole leak shows up in otherwise healthy copper, a spot repair or short reroute is usually the smart fix. If leaks keep coming back, or your home still runs on original galvanized pipe, a whole-house repipe in PEX or copper costs less over time. We find the leak first, then price every option flat-rate.

Slab leaks and main line leaks rarely announce themselves with a puddle. More often the first clue is a water bill that suddenly doubles, the faint sound of running water when everything is off, a warm spot on the floor, or shower pressure that keeps fading. We begin with an onsite plumbing evaluation and pressure testing when appropriate. When specialized leak detection is needed, we can refer or coordinate with a qualified leak-detection contractor before recommending repair options, so access openings are kept as small and as few as the job allows.

Mid-century homes across Ventura and Los Angeles County also face a slower problem: original galvanized steel pipe that corrodes from the inside out, showing up as rusty water at the tap and pressure that falls year after year. When repair stops making sense, we repipe in PEX or Type L copper using a minimal-drywall approach, with access openings mapped in advance to keep drywall work minimal. Drywall repair is not included unless it is specifically part of your approved proposal. When it isn't, we can help coordinate a qualified drywall contractor. All work is performed under our California C-36 plumbing contractor's license (CSLB #1127602).

What to Expect

Four steps from mystery leak to dry, quiet pipes, starting with diagnosis, not demolition.

1
Call or book online
Tell us what you’re seeing. We triage over the phone (if water is actively running, we’ll help you find the main shutoff) and schedule same-day.
2
Evaluation first
We begin with an onsite plumbing evaluation and pressure testing when appropriate. When specialized leak detection is needed, we can refer or coordinate with a qualified leak-detection contractor before recommending repair options.
3
Flat-rate options, your call
Spot repair, reroute, or repipe: we price the honest options side by side and you approve an exact number before any work starts.
4
Repair, test & patch
We make the repair or run the new lines and pressure test everything. Drywall repair and permitting are coordinated when they are included in your approved scope.

Why Best Coast

Why Homeowners Call Us for Leaks & Repipes

Diagnosis before demolition
We start with an onsite evaluation and pressure testing, and bring in a qualified leak-detection contractor when specialized detection is needed, so we know what we are fixing before anything gets opened.
Repair-first honesty
If a spot repair genuinely solves it, that’s what we recommend. We only push a repipe when the math says it saves you money over time.
Repipes built for SoCal homes
PEX and Type L copper systems sized for hard water and mid-century housing stock, pressure tested before we leave, with permitting coordinated when included in the approved scope.
Warranty-backed, upfront pricing
Flat-rate quote before work begins, manufacturer warranty on the pipe, and our labor warranty on the work.

Water Line & Repipe FAQs

Quick answers to what homeowners ask us most about leaks and repiping.

It depends on where the leak sits and whether a spot repair, a reroute, or a full repipe is the right fix. An onsite evaluation comes first, so the quote reflects the actual problem instead of a guess. Estimates are free, and you approve an exact flat-rate price before we open a single wall.
